How it works
Each item has a typical footprint once it's packed and stacked sensibly, with boxes and soft items on top of furniture. The calculator adds them up, adds a walkway if you want one, and suggests the smallest standard size that fits.
A 10ft container is about 70 sq ft inside, a 20ft about 150 sq ft and a 40ft about 300 sq ft. Indoor storage rooms commonly come in 25, 35, 50, 75, 100 and 150 sq ft. See the full container sizes guide.
